Bought an editable invitation or party printable from Dear Special Day? This guide walks you through every step, from finding your download to printing or sending your finished design. No software or design experience needed.
1. Find your download
Your templates are digital, so nothing is shipped. Right after purchase you get instant access: open your order confirmation email and download the PDF. This PDF contains the link to your Canva template and a step-by-step editing and printing guide.
Can't find the email? Check your spam or promotions folder and search for "Dear Special Day". Still nothing? Send us a message through our contact page and we'll help you out.
2. Open your Canva template
Click the template link in your PDF. Canva opens in your browser or app, and you can log in or create a free Canva account. The template is copied to your own account, so you can always come back to it later. Some designs come with separate versions for Canva Free and Canva Pro; check your PDF to see which link to use.
3. Edit your invitation
Click any text box to change it. You can edit:
- names and party details such as date, time and address
- the wording of your invitation
- fonts and text colors
- text size and placement
Some numbers and decorative elements are part of the artwork itself. Check the product page to see what is editable on your design.
4. Download your finished design
In Canva, click Share and then Download. Choose the file type that fits how you will use it:
- PDF Print: best for printing at home or at a print shop
- PNG: sharp quality for sharing digitally
- JPG: a smaller file that is easy to send by text message or WhatsApp
5. Print or share your invitation
Print at home: use heavy cardstock and set your printer to its highest quality. Print one test copy first to check the colors.
Print at a local print shop: bring your PDF and ask for printing on cardstock in the size of your design.

Share it digitally: send your PNG or JPG as an e-vite by email, text message or social media.
